I love homemade bread so much and love that this one is as simple as mixing together and throwing in the crockpot to cook! We started a garden this year and it was extra fun being able to use rosemary we grew ourselves.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup luke warm water

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3 Tablespoon olive oil

  • 3 cups flour

  • 2 Tablespoon fresh Rosemary

Steps

  1. Mix water, sugar and yeast together. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

  2. Add salt and olive oil to yeast mixture. Mix well.

  3. Mix in flour and the half the Rosemary

  4. Knead by hand or with a dough hook.

  5. Coat large bowl with olive oil and put the dough in the oiled bowl.

  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 45 minutes.

  7. Lay 2 pieces of parchment paper in crockpot, spray with olive oil spray

  8. Set the dough in crockpot. Brush the top of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle remaining rosemary on top.

  9. Put crockpot lid on and cook on low for 2.5 - 3 hours.

  10. Serve with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt for dipping.

Tips

  • This is a dense bread so I prefer the olive oil for dipping over butter.

  • You can or reduce the amount of rosemary depending on how strong of a flavor you want
